Minyama’s canals were dredged through the 1970s, and the housing that followed was rarely project-built. Homes here tend to be larger, frequently two storeys, and individually designed, which is exactly why the wardrobe brief is harder than it looks. We regularly measure deep returns behind ensuite walls, ceilings that rake away from the window, and a main bedroom wall that is not parallel to the one opposite it.
Those rooms reward proper drawing. We produce a layout against the measured geometry, decide where the long hanging runs earn their place, and carry the carcass to the real ceiling height rather than stopping at a standard. On a canal frontage there is also a material question: saltwater humidity reaches joinery most reliably at the raw edge of a shelf and the inside of a board-bottomed drawer. We specify moisture-resistant board, high-impact edging and metal drawer sides with 16mm bottoms throughout.

Frequently asked questions
Can you build to an angled or non-parallel wall?
Yes, and it is routine work for us. We measure the actual angle, draw the carcass to it, and cut tapered components at Warana. The alternative, squaring off and boxing out the difference, costs you the corner and looks like a compromise, which in a home of this standard it is.
How do you handle a raked ceiling?
We carry the cabinetry to the rake and scribe the top rather than stopping at a level line and leaving a dust shelf. Behind the raked section we usually put low-frequency storage, since the reach is awkward, and keep the everyday hanging where you can use it standing up.
What does a walk-in dressing room cost in Minyama?
It varies widely with floor area, the ratio of drawers to hanging, and the finish, two-pack and veneer sit well above laminate. How far ahead should we book?
For a full dressing room inside a renovation, talk to us as early as the design stage, the setting-out decisions are cheapest to make before the walls are lined. Manufacturing itself runs four to six weeks from approved drawings and deposit.
Do you supply finishes we can see before deciding?
Yes. Our Warana showroom carries the door finishes, handle ranges and drawer hardware, and we can leave samples with you. For a large dressing room we would rather you choose against a physical sample under your own lighting than from a printed swatch.
